The novelty of our approach is that we compare models not only by predictive accuracy but also by explainability and robustness. Our findings show that the choice of the best model to employ to predict Google stock prices depends on the desired objective. If the goal is accuracy, the recurrent neural network is the best model, while, for robustness, the Ridge regression model is the most resilient to changes and, for explainability, the Gradient Boosting model is the best choice.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/a18020081","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,4]],"date-time":"2025-02-04T05:13:43Z","timestamp":1738646023000},"page":"81","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Machine Learning Models to Predict Google Stock Prices"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"18","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0002-6141-5288","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Cosmina Elena","family":"Bucura","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Economics and Management, University of Pavia, 27100 Pavia, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-4198-0127","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Paolo","family":"Giudici","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Economics and Management, University of Pavia, 27100 Pavia, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,3]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","first-page":"125329","article-title":"A Rank graduation box for SAFE Artificial Intelligence","volume":"29","author":"Babaei","year":"2025","journal-title":"Expert Syst.
