One potential solution might be to employ the Pupil Dilation Response (PDR) as an objective physiological metric. In this dataset descriptor paper, we present a collection of data showing changes in pupil dimension and shape upon presentation of auditory stimuli. In particular, we collected pupil data from 16 subjects, with no known hearing loss, upon different lighting conditions, measured in response to a series of 60\u2013100 audible tones, all of the same frequency and amplitude, which may serve to further investigate any relationship between hearing capabilities and PDRs.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/data9030043","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,5]],"date-time":"2024-03-05T03:03:20Z","timestamp":1709607800000},"page":"43","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["Pupil Data Upon Stimulation by Auditory Stimuli"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"9","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8424-0762","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Davide","family":"La Rosa","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Information Science and Technologies (ISTI-CNR), 56124 Pisa, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-6900-1306","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Luca","family":"Bruschini","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Surgical, Medical, Molecular Pathology and Critical Cares, University of Pisa, 56124 Pisa, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5146-4997","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Maria Paola","family":"Tramonti Fantozzi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Translational Research and of New Surgical and Medical Technologies, University of Pisa, 56126 Pisa, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Paolo","family":"Orsini","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Translational Research and of New Surgical and Medical Technologies, University of Pisa, 56126 Pisa, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8429-5544","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Mario","family":"Milazzo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering, University of Pisa, 56126 Pisa, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-7238-2181","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Antonino","family":"Crivello","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Information Science and Technologies (ISTI-CNR), 56124 Pisa, Italy"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,5]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"32","DOI":"10.1001\/archotol.1957.03830190034008","article-title":"Clinical determination of abnormal auditory adaptation","volume":"65","author":"Carhart","year":"1957","journal-title":"AMA Arch.
