Information energy density has increased with star formation until sufficient to start accelerating the expansion of the universe. The resulting reduction in the rate of star formation due to the accelerated expansion may provide a feedback that limits the information energy density to a constant level. The characteristics of the universe\u2019s holographic information energy then closely match those required to explain dark energy and also answer the cosmic coincidence problem. Furthermore the era of acceleration will be clearly limited in time.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/e13040924","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,4,21]],"date-time":"2011-04-21T10:43:59Z","timestamp":1303382639000},"page":"924-935","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":6,"title":["Holographic Dark Information Energy"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"13","author":[{"given":"Michael Paul","family":"Gough","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Space Science Centre, University of Sussex, Brighton, BN1 9QT, UK"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2011,4,21]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"157","DOI":"10.1016\/S1355-2198(01)00008-9","article-title":"Obstacles on the way towards the quantization of space, time and matter- and possible solutions","volume":"32","year":"2001","journal-title":"Stud.
