The main criterion used by these authors consists of requiring that an equation of state must not be inconsistent with certain thermodynamical identities from the first and second laws of thermodynamics. This paper explores the possibility of another self-consistency method based on relativistic transformations of the thermodynamical variables. It is shown that the virial coefficients have to be corrected by a relativistic factor if the equation of state is considered in a moving relativistic reference frame.
