The method exploits the convex geometry of states but not other detailed conditions or relations of states and effects. We also show that properties in optimal quantum state discrimination are shared in GPTs in general: (i) no measurement sometimes gives optimal discrimination, and (ii) optimal measurement is not unique.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/e18020039","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2016,1,26]],"date-time":"2016-01-26T10:00:42Z","timestamp":1453802442000},"page":"39","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":22,"title":["Structure of Optimal State Discrimination in Generalized Probabilistic Theories"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"18","author":[{"given":"Joonwoo","family":"Bae","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Applied Mathematics, Hanyang University (ERICA), 55 Hanyangdaehak-ro, Ansan 426-791, Korea"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Dai-Gyoung","family":"Kim","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Applied Mathematics, Hanyang University (ERICA), 55 Hanyangdaehak-ro, Ansan 426-791, Korea"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Leong-Chuan","family":"Kwek","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore, 3 Science Drive 2, 117543, Singapore"},{"name":"Institute of Advanced Studies, Nanyang Technological University, 60 Nanyang View, 639673, Singapore"},{"name":"National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, 1 Nanyang Walk, 637616, Singapore"},{"name":"MajuLab, CNRS-UNS-NUS-NTU International Joint Research Unit, UMI 3654, 117543, Singapore"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2016,1,26]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"231","DOI":"10.1007\/BF01007479","article-title":"Quantum Detection and Estimation Theory","volume":"1","author":"Helstrom","year":"1969","journal-title":"J.
