Two individuals generate an endowment together, but only one can decide how to share it. They either share the same group identity or have distinct group identities. Then, they approach a task in which they can opportunistically engage in dishonest behavior. Our results show that when individuals share the same group identity, unfair distributive decisions do not trigger a dishonest reaction. In contrast, when different group identities coexist, dishonest behavior is observed as a reaction to unfairness.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/g8030028","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2017,7,14]],"date-time":"2017-07-14T10:45:02Z","timestamp":1500029102000},"page":"28","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["Reacting to Unfairness: Group Identity and Dishonest Behavior"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"8","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8241-4677","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Nives","family":"Della Valle","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"EURAC Research, Institute for Renewable Energy, G.-Di-Vittorio Strasse\/Via G.
