The role of social media has changed from what was originally only a way to bridge social interactions, to becoming a business tool in various industries, one of which is the tourism industry. The interaction between social media users can create new ways to increase public awareness of existing tourist objects. One way to achieve that goal is by utilizing social media influencers. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the intention of the followers to follow the travel recommendations given by the influencer. This study uses the theory of follower-influencer experience and the theory of emotional dimensions, as well as their effect on the level of commitment and intention to follow the recommendation. This research was conducted by distributing surveys through social media and we managed to obtain a total of 203 valid respondents. The results of the study were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM), which showed that information experience and homophily experience had a significant effect on pleasure, arousal, and dominance. Pleasure and dominance have a significant effect on commitment, and commitment has a significant effect on the intention to follow the recommendation.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/info13080384","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,8,11]],"date-time":"2022-08-11T21:15:05Z","timestamp":1660252505000},"page":"384","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":16,"title":["The Effect of Interaction between Followers and Influencers on Intention to Follow Travel Recommendations from Influencers in Indonesia Based on Follower-Influencer Experience and Emotional Dimension"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"13","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-0409-3745","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Betty","family":"Purwandari","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, Depok 16424, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5501-7457","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Arief","family":"Ramadhan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science Department, BINUS Graduate Program\u2014Doctor of Computer Science, Bina Nusantara University, West Jakarta 11480, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Kongkiti","family":"Phusavat","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, Bangkok 10903, Thailand"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-5793-9460","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Achmad Nizar","family":"Hidayanto","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, Depok 16424, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Adyssa Fairuz","family":"Husniyyah","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, Depok 16424, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Ferdinand Hanif","family":"Faozi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, Depok 16424, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Nicolas Henry","family":"Wijaya","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, Depok 16424, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Rifqi Hilman","family":"Saputra","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, Depok 16424, Indonesia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2022,8,11]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"106949","DOI":"10.1016\/j.addbeh.2021.106949","article-title":"Problematic social media use and social support received in real-life versus on social media: Associations with depression, anxiety and social isolation","volume":"119","author":"Meshi","year":"2021","journal-title":"Addict.
