Reviewing prior studies on factors that influence mobile government acceptance in Egypt and addressing local challenges help in the development of effective strategies for successful implementation, considering opportunities and challenges in value-added services (VAS). Therefore, the main objectives of this paper are as follows: we critically review prior studies to identify the main mobile government acceptance factors, explore the identified dimensions of mobile government acceptance, and recognize further insights into the challenges that exist in the Egyptian context. Data are gathered through interviews with technology experts and customers with technological experience in Egypt. The findings of the study show that the factors affecting mobile government adoption in the Egyptian context are identified as follows: facilitating conditions, opportunities and challenges, technology and information systems, perceived usefulness, challenges like a lack of trust, cost, privacy, age, and several other obstacles. This research assists scholars and practitioners with insights into how to create and promote an application that is deemed attractive for the adoption of m-government services.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/jtaer18040092","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,10,11]],"date-time":"2023-10-11T08:18:57Z","timestamp":1697012337000},"page":"1820-1837","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":9,"title":["Exploring Factors Affecting Mobile Government Services Adoption in the Egyptian Context"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"18","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0009-6277-2755","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Sherif","family":"Elbatanouny","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, Middlesex University, The Burroughs, Hendon, London NW4 4BT, UK"},{"name":"Business Information Systems Department, Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport, Alexandria, Egypt"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-2638-8771","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Georgios","family":"Dafoulas","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, Middlesex University, The Burroughs, Hendon, London NW4 4BT, UK"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-8509-1508","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Noha","family":"Saleeb","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Design Engineering and Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Middlesex University, The Burroughs, Hendon, London NW4 4BT, UK"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2023,10,11]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"563","DOI":"10.1080\/07352166.2019.1572455","article-title":"Revisit the drivers and barriers to e-governance in the mobile age: A case study on the adoption of city management mobile apps for smart urban governance","volume":"43","author":"Tang","year":"2021","journal-title":"J.
