The model is designed to analyze large-scale textual data from over 1500 certified digital outlets registered in the Greek Online Media Registry. Through keyword-based filtering, thematic clustering, and content comparison techniques, the framework aims to detect discursive shifts, trace the replication of news stories, and identify misinformation patterns. While the current phase focuses on model development and data structuring, preliminary observations suggest significant content repetition across sources and a lack of original reporting on climate issues. The project ultimately seeks to promote evidence-based reasoning and enhance public resilience to misinformation related to the climate crisis.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/make7020053","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,6,13]],"date-time":"2025-06-13T06:19:28Z","timestamp":1749795568000},"page":"53","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["MediaWatchers4Climate: Assessing the Accuracy of Climate Change Narratives in Greek Media Through Machine Learning"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"7","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0719-3920","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Thomai","family":"Baltzi","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Stella","family":"Nikitaki","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-2785-9723","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Fani","family":"Galatsopoulou","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-9625-7510","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Ioanna","family":"Kostarella","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0286-2304","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Andreas","family":"Veglis","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Vasilis","family":"Vasilopoulos","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Dimitris","family":"Papaevagelou","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Civic Information Office, Nikosthenous Str., 11635 Athens, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Antonis","family":"Skamnakis","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54632 Thessaloniki, Greece"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,6,13]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"024024","DOI":"10.1088\/1748-9326\/8\/2\/024024","article-title":"Quantifying the consensus on anthropogenic global warming in the scientific literature","volume":"8","author":"Cook","year":"2013","journal-title":"Environ.
