Preliminary instrument radiometric calibration coefficients and wavelength mapping were also determined before instrument delivery and launch using NIST-traceable sources. One year after launch, Earth flyby data were used to refine the wavelength map by comparing OVIRS spectra with atmospheric models. Near-simultaneous data from other Earth-orbiting satellites were used to cross-calibrate the OVIRS absolute radiometric response, particularly at visible wavelengths. Trending data from internal calibration sources and the Sun show that instrument radiometric performance has been stable to better than 1% in the 18 months since launch.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/rs10091486","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,9,18]],"date-time":"2018-09-18T11:52:29Z","timestamp":1537271549000},"page":"1486","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":26,"title":["In-Flight Calibration and Performance of the OSIRIS-REx Visible and IR Spectrometer (OVIRS)"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"10","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4641-6186","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Amy","family":"Simon","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Dennis","family":"Reuter","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Nicolas","family":"Gorius","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Physics Department, Catholic University of America, Washington, DC 20064, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Allen","family":"Lunsford","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Physics Department, Catholic University of America, Washington, DC 20064, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Richard","family":"Cosentino","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"NASA Postdoctoral Fellow, Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1001-3724","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Galina","family":"Wind","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Science Systems and Applications, Inc., Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Dante","family":"Lauretta","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Lunar and Planetary Lab, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"name":"The OSIRIS-REx Team","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2018,9,18]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"834","DOI":"10.1111\/maps.12353","article-title":"The osiris-rex target asteroid (101955) bennu: Constraints on its physical, geological, and dynamical nature from astronomical observations","volume":"50","author":"Lauretta","year":"2014","journal-title":"Meteorit.
