As a clinical tool applied in the constant monitoring of physiological parameters of infants, wearable sensor systems for infants are able to transmit the information obtained inside an infant\u2019s body to clinicians or parents. Moreover, such systems with integrated sensors can perceive external threats such as falling or drowning and warn parents immediately. Firstly, the paper reviews some available wearable sensor systems for infants; secondly, we introduce the different modules of the framework in the sensor systems; lastly, the methods and techniques applied in the wearable sensor systems are summarized and discussed. The latest research and achievements have been highlighted in this paper and the meaningful applications in healthcare and behavior analysis are also presented. Moreover, we give a lucid perspective of the development of wearable sensor systems for infants in the future.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/s150203721","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2015,2,5]],"date-time":"2015-02-05T10:54:42Z","timestamp":1423133682000},"page":"3721-3749","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":167,"title":["Wearable Sensor Systems for Infants"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"15","author":[{"given":"Zhihua","family":"Zhu","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"The State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Department of Mechanical Engeering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-2797-0264","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Tao","family":"Liu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Department of Mechanical Engeering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China"},{"name":"School of Systems Engineering, Kochi University of Technology, Kochi 780-8520, Japan"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Guangyi","family":"Li","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Department of Mechanical Engeering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Tong","family":"Li","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Department of Mechanical Engeering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Yoshio","family":"Inoue","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Systems Engineering, Kochi University of Technology, Kochi 780-8520, Japan"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2015,2,5]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"137","DOI":"10.1016\/j.artmed.2012.09.003","article-title":"Smart wearable systems: Current status and future challenges","volume":"56","author":"Chan","year":"2012","journal-title":"Artif.
