The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight technologies and solutions encompassing the use of mass-market sensors in current and emerging applications for interacting with Smart Environments. Selected papers address this topic by analyzing different interaction modalities, including hand\/body gestures, face recognition, gaze\/eye tracking, biosignal analysis, speech and activity recognition, and related
