Under ideal communication conditions, the centralized filter can obtain the best state estimation accuracy, and the parallel filter can simplify centralized calculation complexity and improve feasibility; in addition, the performance of the sequential filter is very close to that of the centralized filter and far better than that of the parallel filter. However, the sequential filter can tolerate non-ideal conditions, such as delay and packet loss, and the first two filters cannot operate normally online for delay and will be invalid for packet loss. The performance of the three designed fusion filters is illustrated by three typical cases, which are all better than that of the most popular Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) performance.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/s21041440","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,2,19]],"date-time":"2021-02-19T09:06:10Z","timestamp":1613725570000},"page":"1440","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":3,"title":["Three State Estimation Fusion Methods Based on the Characteristic Function Filtering"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"21","author":[{"given":"Yiran","family":"Yuan","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Systems Science and Control Engineering, School of Automation, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Hangzhou 310018, China"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Chenglin","family":"Wen","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Systems Science and Control Engineering, School of Automation, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Hangzhou 310018, China"},{"name":"School of Automation, Guangdong University of Pertrochemical Technology, Maoming 525000, China"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Yiting","family":"Qiu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Systems Science and Control Engineering, School of Automation, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Hangzhou 310018, China"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Xiaohui","family":"Sun","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Systems Science and Control Engineering, School of Automation, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Hangzhou 310018, China"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2021,2,19]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"536","DOI":"10.2514\/3.56190","article-title":"Kalman filtering for spacecraft attitude estimation","volume":"5","author":"Lefferts","year":"1982","journal-title":"J.
