In this paper, we explore the behavioral influences in terms of movements in people confronted with virtual reality scenes of extreme heights and develop an acrophobia classification model based on human movement characteristics. To this end, we used wireless miniaturized inertial navigation sensors (WMINS) network to obtain the information of limb movements in the virtual environment. Based on these data, we constructed a series of data feature processing processes, proposed a system model for the classification of acrophobia and non-acrophobia based on human motion feature analysis, and realized the classification recognition of acrophobia and non-acrophobia through the designed integrated learning model. The final accuracy of acrophobia dichotomous classification based on limb motion information reached 94.64%, which has higher accuracy and efficiency compared with other existing research models. Overall, our study demonstrates a strong correlation between people\u2019s mental state during fear of heights and their limb movements at that time.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/s23125482","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,6,12]],"date-time":"2023-06-12T02:28:42Z","timestamp":1686536922000},"page":"5482","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":6,"title":["Classification and Analysis of Human Body Movement Characteristics Associated with Acrophobia Induced by Virtual Reality Scenes of Heights"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"23","author":[{"given":"Xiankai","family":"Cheng","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, School of Biomedical Engineering (Suzhou), University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China"},{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]},{"given":"Benkun","family":"Bao","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, School of Biomedical Engineering (Suzhou), University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China"},{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]},{"given":"Weidong","family":"Cui","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]},{"given":"Shuai","family":"Liu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, School of Biomedical Engineering (Suzhou), University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China"},{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]},{"given":"Jun","family":"Zhong","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, School of Biomedical Engineering (Suzhou), University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China"},{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]},{"given":"Liming","family":"Cai","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]},{"given":"Hongbo","family":"Yang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, School of Biomedical Engineering (Suzhou), University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China"},{"name":"Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou 215163, China"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2023,6,10]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"Wilson, R.B., Vangala, S., Elashoff, D., Safari, T., and Smith, B.A. (2021).
