The system coherence time may be exceeded as a result of time consumption when adopting an orthogonal pilot symbol in the time domain. To solve this problem, an antenna grouping transmission scheme is proposed to reduce the total channel estimation time by sacrificing the observed data length. The simulation results show that the proposed BMP algorithm has good anti-noise performance, and it can accurately determine the non-zero position of the sparse vector and adaptively determine the sparsity of the channel, which effectively translates to improved channel estimation performance and better overall system performance than the existing algorithms.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/sym10100507","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,10,16]],"date-time":"2018-10-16T11:07:51Z","timestamp":1539688071000},"page":"507","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["A Low Rank Channel Estimation Scheme in Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"10","author":[{"given":"Waleed","family":"Shahjehan","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar 814 KPK, Pakistan"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Syed Waqar","family":"Shah","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar 814 KPK, Pakistan"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0862-0533","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Jaime","family":"Lloret","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Integrated Management Coastal Research Institute, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, C\/Paranimf n\u00b0 1, Gandia, 46730 Valencia, Spain"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Antonio","family":"Leon","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Communications, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Camino Vera s\/n, 46022 Valencia, Spain"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2018,10,16]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"1065","DOI":"10.1109\/JSAC.2014.2328098","article-title":"What will 5G be?","volume":"32","author":"Andrews","year":"2014","journal-title":"IEEE J.
