The blood flow was driven by the peristaltic pumping. Thermal radiation effects were also taken into account. The convective and slip boundary conditions were also applied in this formulation. These conditions are very helpful to carry out the behavior of particle movement which may be utilized for cardiac surgery. The tapered porous channel had an unvarying wave speed with dissimilar amplitudes and phase. The non-dimensional analysis was utilized for some approximations such as the proposed mathematical modelling equations were modified by using a lubrication approach and the analytical solutions for stream function, nanoparticle temperature and volumetric concentration profiles were obtained. The impacts of various emerging parameters on the thermal characteristics and nanoparticles concentration were analyzed with the help of computational results. The trapping phenomenon was also examined for relevant parameters. It was also observed that the geometric parameters, like amplitudes, non-uniform parameters and phase difference, play an important role in controlling the nanofluids transport phenomena. The outcomes of the present model may be applicable in the smart nanofluid peristaltic pump which may be utilized in hemodialysis.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/sym11070868","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,7,3]],"date-time":"2019-07-03T11:14:49Z","timestamp":1562152489000},"page":"868","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":98,"title":["Peristaltic Pumping of Nanofluids through a Tapered Channel in a Porous Environment: Applications in Blood Flow"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"11","author":[{"given":"J.","family":"Prakash","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mathematics, Avvaiyar Government College for Women, Karaikal 609602, Puducherry-U.T., India"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4798-1021","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Dharmendra","family":"Tripathi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mathematics, National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand 246174, India"}]},{"given":"Abhishek Kumar","family":"Tiwari","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Applied Mechanics, MNNIT Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh 211004, India"}]},{"given":"Sadiq M.","family":"Sait","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Center for Communications and IT Research, Research Institute, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran 31261, Saudi Arabia"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-7805-8259","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Rahmat","family":"Ellahi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Center for Modeling & Computer Simulation, Research Institute, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran 31261, Saudi Arabia"},{"name":"Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences (FBAS), International Islamic University (IIUI), Islamabad 44000, Pakistan"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2019,7,3]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"731","DOI":"10.1017\/S0022112067001156","article-title":"Peristaltic motion","volume":"29","author":"Burns","year":"1967","journal-title":"J.
