Some special models in this class are introduced. The quantile function (QFUN), ordinary and incomplete moments (MOMs), generating function (GFUN), moments of residual and reversed residual lifetimes (RLT), and four different types of entropy are all structural aspects of the proposed family that hold for any baseline model. Maximum likelihood (ML) and maximum product spacing (MPS) estimates of the model parameters are given. Bayesian estimates of the model parameters are obtained. We also present a novel log-location-scale regression model based on the odd Perks\u2013Weibull distribution. Due to the significance of the odd Perks-G family and the survival discretization method, both are used to introduce the discrete odd Perks-G family, a novel discrete distribution class. Real-world data sets are used to emphasize the importance and applicability of the proposed models.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/sym14050883","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,4,26]],"date-time":"2022-04-26T02:14:39Z","timestamp":1650939279000},"page":"883","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":50,"title":["On Odd Perks-G Class of Distributions: Properties, Regression Model, Discretization, Bayesian and Non-Bayesian Estimation, and Applications"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"14","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-3479-5967","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Ibrahim","family":"Elbatal","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Science, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Riyadh 11432, Saudi Arabia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Naif","family":"Alotaibi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Science, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Riyadh 11432, Saudi Arabia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-3888-1275","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Ehab M.","family":"Almetwally","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Business Administration, Delta University of Science and Technology, Gamasa 11152, Egypt"},{"name":"Faculty of Graduate Studies for Statistical Research, Cairo University, Giza 12613, Egypt"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-5507-9399","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Salem A.","family":"Alyami","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Science, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Riyadh 11432, Saudi Arabia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1333-3862","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Mohammed","family":"Elgarhy","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The Higher Institute of Commercial Sciences, Al Mahalla Al Kubra 31951, Egypt"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2022,4,26]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"299","DOI":"10.1109\/24.229504","article-title":"Exponentiated Weibull family for analyzing bathtub failure-real data","volume":"42","author":"Mudholkar","year":"1993","journal-title":"IEEE Trans.
