An energy minimization procedure is applied to the lattice model to simulate the director field distributions. These distributions are also approximated using the suitably designed analytical ansatz. We present both simulated and approximated results for optical polarizing microscopy textures and different visualizations of director field structure such as distributions of the azimuthal director angle and isolines for the normal component of the director in coordinate planes. The ansatz correctly mimicked the geometry and optical properties of the solitonic structures under consideration.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/sym14122476","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,11,22]],"date-time":"2022-11-22T08:27:29Z","timestamp":1669105649000},"page":"2476","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":4,"title":["Optical Imaging and Analytical Design of Localized Topological Structures in Chiral Liquid Crystals"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"14","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8789-3267","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Igor","family":"Lobanov","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Physics and Engineering, ITMO University, Kronverksky Pr. 49, Saint Petersburg 197101, Russia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-4324-1491","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Elena","family":"Aksenova","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Physics, Saint Petersburg State University, 7-9 Universitetskaya Emb., Saint Petersburg 199034, Russia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1594-291X","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Tetiana","family":"Orlova","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Infochemistry Scientific Center, ITMO University, Lomonosova Str. 9, Saint Petersburg 191002, Russia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-3342-4243","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Darina","family":"Darmoroz","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Infochemistry Scientific Center, ITMO University, Lomonosova Str. 9, Saint Petersburg 191002, Russia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-9505-0996","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Valery","family":"Uzdin","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Physics and Engineering, ITMO University, Kronverksky Pr. 49, Saint Petersburg 197101, Russia"},{"name":"Faculty of Physics, Saint Petersburg State University, 7-9 Universitetskaya Emb., Saint Petersburg 199034, Russia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1023-3284","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Alexei D.","family":"Kiselev","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Laboratory of Quantum Processes and Measurements, ITMO University, Kadetskaya Line 3b, Saint Petersburg 199034, Russia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2022,11,22]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"263","DOI":"10.1063\/1.1655464","article-title":"Electrically variable diffraction in spherulitic liquid crystals","volume":"25","author":"Haas","year":"1974","journal-title":"Appl.
