The research finds that during the period from 2018 to 2023, cities with a stronger degree of industrial diversification demonstrated stronger economic resilience in the face of external shocks. Industrial diversification can not only disperse the risks from external shocks, but more importantly, it can stimulate entrepreneurial spirit, thereby promoting innovation and transformation in industries and enhancing the economic resilience of cities.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/systems13050366","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,5,9]],"date-time":"2025-05-09T08:20:23Z","timestamp":1746778823000},"page":"366","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":10,"title":["Industrial Diversification, Entrepreneurship, and Urban Economic Resilience"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"13","author":[{"given":"Yiwei","family":"Chen","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Economics and Management, China Jiliang University, Hangzhou 310018, China"},{"name":"Institute of Education Economics, Peking University, Beijing 100091, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Congbin","family":"Guo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Education Economics, Peking University, Beijing 100091, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,5,9]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"27","DOI":"10.1093\/cjres\/rsp029","article-title":"The economic resilience of regions: Towards an evolutionary approach","volume":"3","author":"Simmie","year":"2010","journal-title":"Camb.
