Special attention is given to the ignition scenario, ignition delay, size and shape of the flame kernel among different turbulent regimes. Different stages of ignition are analysed for various levels of the initial velocity fluctuations and turbulence length scales. Impact of these parameters is found small for the ignition delay time but turns out to be significant during the flame kernel propagation phase and persists up to the stabilisation stage. In general, it is found that in the isotropic conditions, the flame growth and the rise of the maximum temperature in the domain are more dependent on the initial fluctuations level and the length scales. In the anisotropic regimes, these parameters have a substantial influence on the flame only during the initial phase of its development.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/en14071869","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,3,28]],"date-time":"2021-03-28T22:09:01Z","timestamp":1616969341000},"page":"1869","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":9,"title":["Numerical Study of Hydrogen Auto-Ignition Process in an Isotropic and Anisotropic Turbulent Field"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"14","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8417-8129","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Agnieszka","family":"Wawrzak","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, Czestochowa University of Technology, Armii Krajowej 21, 42-201 Czestochowa, Poland"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-4844-0289","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Artur","family":"Tyliszczak","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, Czestochowa University of Technology, Armii Krajowej 21, 42-201 Czestochowa, Poland"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2021,3,28]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"57","DOI":"10.1016\/j.pecs.2008.07.002","article-title":"Ignition of turbulent non-premixed flames","volume":"35","author":"Mastorakos","year":"2009","journal-title":"Prog.
