This study evaluated the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a prosodic training program. Thirty-three children aged 6 to 36 months attended 23 weekly group sessions in their educational setting. Language development was assessed pre- and post-training using the Griffiths III Language and Communication subscale. Results showed a significant shift in the discrepancy between developmental and chronological age, with mean scores increasing from below-age to above-age expected levels. Educators and caregivers reported high satisfaction, language gains, and strong engagement.
[[2025,10,17
["Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of a Classroom-Based Prosodic Training Program for Infants and Toddlers
Center of Linguistics, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, 1649-004 Lisbon, Portugal
Center of Linguistics, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, 1649-004 Lisbon, Portugal
Center of Linguistics, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, 1649-004 Lisbon, Portugal
Center of Linguistics, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, 1649-004 Lisbon, Portugal
Center of Linguistics, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, 1649-004 Lisbon, Portugal
[[2025,10,17
Emerging word segmentation abilities in European Portuguese-learning infants: New evidence for the rhythmic unit and the edge factor
Prieto, P., and Esteve-Gibert, N.
