Three areas are considered: sensor encapsulation for natural aqueous environments, refractive index modulation and laser micropatterning. We present the main conclusions on the issues and parameters to take in consideration for the encapsulation process and results of its design and application. Mid-infrared laser radiation was applied to produce long period fiber gratings and nanosecond pulses of near-infrared Q-switch laser were used for micropatterning.
[[2012,2,28
["LOLS Research in Technology for the Development and Application of New Fiber-Based Sensors
Laboratory of Optics, Lasers and Systems, Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, Polo do Lumiar, Estrada do Paço do Lumiar, 22, Building D, 1649-038 Lisboa, Portugal
Laboratory of Optics, Lasers and Systems, Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, Polo do Lumiar, Estrada do Paço do Lumiar, 22, Building D, 1649-038 Lisboa, Portugal
[[2012,2,28
Santos optical fiber sensing system based on long-period gratings for remote refractive index measurement in aqueous environments
Fiber Integr.
