The signal was established to be of planetary origin through radial velocity measurements obtained using SONG, SOPHIE, FIES, NRES, and EXPRES, which show a reflex motion of <jats:italic>K<\/jats:italic> = 294.1 \u00b1 1.1 m s<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>. A joint analysis of the TESS and ground-based photometry and radial velocity measurements reveals that TOI-1431b has a mass of <jats:italic>M<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>p<\/jats:sub> = 3.12 \u00b1 0.18 <jats:italic>M<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>J<\/jats:sub> (990 \u00b1 60 <jats:italic>M<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>\u2295<\/jats:sub>), an inflated radius of <jats:italic>R<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>p<\/jats:sub> = 1.49 \u00b1 0.05 <jats:italic>R<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>J<\/jats:sub> (16.7 \u00b1 0.6 <jats:italic>R<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>\u2295<\/jats:sub>), and an orbital period of <jats:italic>P<\/jats:italic> = 2.650237 \u00b1 0.000003 days. Analysis of the spectral energy distribution of the host star reveals that the planet orbits a bright (<jats:italic>V<\/jats:italic> = 8.049 mag) and young (<jats:inline-formula>\n TESS photometry also reveals a secondary eclipse with a depth of <jats:inline-formula>\n                     <jats:tex-math>\n\n<\/jats:tex-math>\n                     <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" overflow=\"scroll\">\n                        <mml:msubsup>\n                           <mml:mrow>\n                              <mml:mn>127<\/mml:mn>\n                           <\/mml:mrow>\n                           <mml:mrow>\n                              <mml:mo>\u2212<\/mml:mo>\n                              <mml:mn>5<\/mml:mn>\n                           <\/mml:mrow>\n                           <mml:mrow>\n                              <mml:mo>+<\/mml:mo>\n                              <mml:mn>4<\/mml:mn>\n                           <\/mml:mrow>\n                        <\/mml:msubsup>\n                     <\/mml:math>\n                     <jats:inline-graphic xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" xlink:href=\"ajac224eieqn5.gif\" xlink:type=\"simple\"\/>\n                  <\/jats:inline-formula> ppm as well as the full phase curve of the planet\u2019s thermal emission in the red-optical. This has allowed us to measure the dayside and nightside temperature of its atmosphere as <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>day<\/jats:sub> = 3004 \u00b1 64 K and <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>night<\/jats:sub> = 2583 \u00b1 63 K, the second hottest measured nightside temperature. The planet\u2019s low day\/night temperature contrast (\u223c420 K) suggests very efficient heat transport between the dayside and nightside hemispheres.
