This study explores the application of circular economy principles to transform coffee into useful resources to reduce the coffee industry's environmental impact and enhance its sustainability. A mixed-methods case study design was employed, combining semi-structured interviews with senior officials and department representatives from King's Ground Biotech Co., Ltd., alongside a survey targeting industry practitioners and the public. The findings demonstrate that upcycling coffee waste has significant environmental benefits in terms of waste reduction to landfills and carbon savings, in addition to providing new revenue streams for businesses. However, efforts to scale up such practices are hampered by feedstock consistency issues, logistical inefficiencies, and regulatory barriers.
