The authors examined student data to find out (a) whether their multi-tasking habits vary significantly by college classification and (b) whether they felt the time spent multitasking in one activity interfered with or displaced time spent on other activities. It was found that first year college freshmen multitasked significantly more than upper class students. However, students' perceptions relative to whether they felt the time spent multitasking in one activity interfered with or displaced time spent on other activities did not significantly differ by college classification. These findings have important implications for understanding the multitasking habits among college students.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/ijcbpl.2016100101","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2016,12,21]],"date-time":"2016-12-21T10:47:25Z","timestamp":1482317245000},"page":"1-12","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":11,"title":["Multitasking Among College Students"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"6","author":[{"given":"Julie A.","family":"Delello","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"College of Education and Psychology, The University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler, TX, USA"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Carla A.","family":"Reichard","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler, TX, USA"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Kouider","family":"Mokhtari","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler, TX, USA"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"2432","container-title":["International Journal of Cyber Behavior, Psychology and Learning"],"original-title":[],"language":"ng","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/www.igi-global.com\/viewtitle.aspx?TitleId=173739","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2022,6,1]],"date-time":"2022-06-01T14:21:00Z","timestamp":1654093260000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/services.igi-global.com\/resolvedoi\/resolve.aspx?doi=10.4018\/IJCBPL.2016100101"}},"subtitle":["Are Freshmen More Distracted?"],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2016,10,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"4","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2016,10]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.4018\/ijcbpl.2016100101","relation":{},"ISSN":["2155-7136","2155-7144"],"issn-type":[{"value":"2155-7136","type":"print"},{"value":"2155-7144","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2016,10,1]]}}}
