Traditional zebrafish embryo injection is manually conducted under microscope, requiring challenging coordination of hand (to manipulate), eye (to watch) and even foot (to trigger the microinjector), and their respective precise control as well as being labor intensive. An automatic operating process for zebrafish embryo injection is proposed in this paper. Based on a micromanipulation robot system, the operating process integrates computer vision and micromanipulation robot control to realize batch embryo quantitative injection automatically. Successful rate of 93% and survival ratio of 89.5% at operating speed of 6-7 embryos\/minute are obtained, verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the process. Finally, the process is applied to inject a fluorescent material and investigate the toxicity of a dye, both receiving success.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/ijimr.2013010101","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2013,9,27]],"date-time":"2013-09-27T16:42:40Z","timestamp":1380300160000},"page":"1-15","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Automatic Operating Process for Zebrafish Embryo Injection"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"3","author":[{"given":"Wang","family":"Yiliao","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Robotics and Automatic Information System, Nankai University, Nankai, Tianjin, China"}]},{"given":"Sun","family":"Mingzhu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Robotics and Automatic Information System, Nankai University, Nankai, Tianjin, China"}]},{"given":"Feng","family":"Xizeng","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"State Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemical Biology, College of Life Science, Nankai University, Nankai, Tianjin, China"}]},{"given":"Wang Ya","family":"Nan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"State Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemical Biology, College of Life Science, Nankai University, Nankai, Tianjin, China"}]},{"given":"Zhao","family":"Baoquan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Toxicology and Biochemistry Pharmacy, Academy of Military Medical Science, Beijing, China"}]},{"given":"Zhao","family":"Xin","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Robotics and Automatic Information System, Nankai University, Nankai, Tianjin, China"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"ijimr.2013010101-0","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TPAMI.1986.4767851"},{"key":"ijimr.2013010101-1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/978-3-642-80343-7"},{"key":"ijimr.2013010101-2","author":"D.
