{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,7,14]],"date-time":"2026-07-14T04:54:28Z","timestamp":1784004868448,"version":"3.55.0"},"reference-count":0,"publisher":"IGI Global Scientific Publishing","issue":"1","content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":[],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2021,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>This study explored the behavioral adoption of electronic payment systems (EPS) among college students in China based on the UTAUT framework as the theoretical foundation of the study. The analysis was conducted using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The results have demonstrated that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and perceived security were all significant in predicting the intention to use electronic payment systems. Perceived trust however was not a significant determinant of the intention to use. The individual user past experience was found to predict significantly the performance expectancy, effort expectancy, perceived security, and perceived trust of EPS.
