However, reviews conducted show that none of these studies examined the applicability of the intergroup contact theory to reduce prejudice among people from a multitribal context where the people share similar characteristics, but have sentiments against each other due to tribalism. The study examines the applicability of intergroup contact theory to promote positive attitudes among individuals to share knowledge in a multitribal context. A quantitative approach was adopted using questionnaires collected from two hundred and ninety-three lecturers from ten polytechnics in Ghana. Multivariate analysis revealed that equal status, cooperativeness and common goals have positive influence on an individual's attitude to share knowledge in a multitribal context. However, the influence of institutional support was not supported. The results of the study suggest the applicability of the intergroup contact theory explains how to promote a positive attitude in a multitribal context.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/ijkm.2019040105","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,3,19]],"date-time":"2019-03-19T12:34:27Z","timestamp":1552998867000},"page":"81-96","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Intergroup Contact Theory"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"15","author":[{"given":"Eugene","family":"Okyere-Kwakye","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Business and Management Studies, Koforidua Technical University, Koforidua, Ghana"}]},{"given":"Khalil Md","family":"Nor","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Azman Hashim International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai, Malaysia"}]},{"given":"Khairiah","family":"Soehod","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai, Malaysia"}]},{"family":"Zaitul","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Faculty of Economics, Universitas Bung Hatta, Padang, Indonesia"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"IJKM.2019040105-0","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.2307\/3250961"},{"key":"IJKM.2019040105-1","author":"G.
