Data was taken from one semester of participation in an e-collaboration assessing student peer discussions in politics from two introductory American politics classes across two geographic regions of the country. Significant findings reveal that the interactive discussion forums in this e-collaboration engaged students in an academically reflective peer-student and peer-content interactions over the entire semester. The implications of this study are immense, in that a carefully designed digital learning strategy, an e-collaboration, does extend peer deliberative discussions into the virtual hallway, enhancing student deliberative performance. This is one that can be used to complement a variety of disciplines and is a concern to researchers, educators, and universities.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/ijopcd.2018070101","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,4,24]],"date-time":"2018-04-24T09:25:46Z","timestamp":1524561946000},"page":"1-17","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["Peer Interactions"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"8","author":[{"given":"Anita","family":"Chadha","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Houston, Downtown, Houston, USA"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-0","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/s12528-011-9043-x"},{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-1","article-title":"Modes of interaction in distance education: Recent developments and research questions","author":"T.Anderson","year":"2003","journal-title":"Handbook of Distance Education"},{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/978-94-017-0781-7"},{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-3","first-page":"115","article-title":"Promoting students\u2019 argument construction and collaborative debate in the science classroom","author":"P.Bell","year":"2004","journal-title":"Internet environments for science education"},{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-4","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.3102\/00346543074003379"},{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-5","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1017\/S104909651200042X"},{"key":"IJOPCD.2018070101-6","unstructured":"Boud, D., Cohen, R., & Sampson, J.
