Using a mixed-methods design on 80 early-stage startup proposals, the analysis shows that human scorers produce bimodal distributions reflecting categorical conviction, while AI outputs remain unimodal, centralised, and conservative. These tendencies indicate both algorithmic bureaucracy and behavioral convergence, as evaluators embed preferences during scoring, collapsing ranking and selection into a single act.
