Multiple forms of relations between human and nonhuman entities were identified through extensive research, which, analytically does not sit well with more traditional understandings of learning or case-based learning. A critique of those understandings is offered, drawing on concepts from post-modernism and adopting sensibilities from actor-network theory, follow the action in the setting. The authors demonstrate that the case is an assemblage of heterogeneous connections that are made by the teacher and then by the students in the classroom. In working with ANT sensibilities, examination found that tracing the action offers radically different accounts and possibilities for education research and practice. The pragmatic issues in following the action and the challenge of staying coherent and ambivalent are acknowledged.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/jantti.2011040102","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,10,19]],"date-time":"2011-10-19T15:59:35Z","timestamp":1319039975000},"page":"17-31","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["(Un)Locating Learning"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"3","author":[{"given":"Michael","family":"Tscholl","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Cambridge, UK"}]},{"given":"Uma","family":"Patel","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"City University London, UK"}]},{"given":"Patrick","family":"Carmichael","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Liverpool John Moores University, UK"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"jantti.2011040102-0","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1187\/cbe.03-04-0019"},{"key":"jantti.2011040102-1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.2307\/257439"},{"key":"jantti.2011040102-2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.2307\/1322548"},{"journal-title":"Teaching and the case method","year":"1994","author":"L.
