During concept generation, teams gather large amounts of information before generating new ideas and concepts. Digital technologies mean that relevant information can be sourced faster than ever, but this does not necessarily migrate into the activity of concept creation. It is suggested that cues from computer games can help integrate information as well as individuals more effectively, resulting in better conceptual output. A range of game types are evaluated with a view to their possible utilization in support of concept design. Two scenarios for the implementation of gaming methods are proposed, and one refined scenario identified as having potential for further development.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/jgcms.2010070105","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,10,20]],"date-time":"2011-10-20T15:42:30Z","timestamp":1319125350000},"page":"75-92","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Computer Gaming Scenarios for Product Development Teams"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"2","author":[{"given":"Andrew J.","family":"Wodehouse","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Strathclyde, UK"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"William J.","family":"Ion","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Strathclyde, UK"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"jgcms.2010070105-0","author":"G.Altshuller","year":"1994","journal-title":"TRIZ, the theory of inventive problem solving"},{"key":"jgcms.2010070105-1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1177\/1046878105282278"},{"key":"jgcms.2010070105-2","author":"R.Axelrod","year":"1990","journal-title":"The Evolution of Co-operation"},{"key":"jgcms.2010070105-3","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.intcom.2006.08.008"},{"key":"jgcms.2010070105-4","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"Benami, O., & Jin, Y.
