For example, ancient Egyptian temples juxtapose language and symbol in an architecture meant to be understood from the inside. In this study, students, ages 11 through 14, played an educational game based on a virtual temple. In an unstructured test in which students produced their own guided tours of the temple, those who played the game in a digital dome showed better factual recall (P < 0.05) than those who used a standard desktop.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/jgcms.2011010102","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,10,19]],"date-time":"2011-10-19T12:22:49Z","timestamp":1319026969000},"page":"13-32","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":14,"title":["Digital Dome versus Desktop Display in an Educational Game"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"3","author":[{"given":"Jeffrey","family":"Jacobson","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"PublicVR, USA"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"jgcms.2011010102-0","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/s10055-010-0177-3"},{"issue":"2","key":"jgcms.2011010102-1","first-page":"181","article-title":"Computer game theories for designing motivating educational software: A survey study.","volume":"7","author":"C.
