This study, using the Rasch methodology, found evidence that computer hardware innovations are adopted in a particular order. The same could not be said for computer software, whose acceptance may be application-based. This study applied a theoretical framework based on the diffusion of innovation literature (Rodgers, 1995). Data was collected via a telephone survey of 302 computer users. Scores obtained from the Rasch analysis were used as the dependent variable (that of behavioral innovativeness) in a regression analysis, against factors such as overall innovativeness, use innovativeness, opinion leadership\/acceptance, product class knowledge, and use of sources of information.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/joeuc.2008100101","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,2,15]],"date-time":"2011-02-15T14:28:35Z","timestamp":1297780115000},"page":"1-22","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["Looking at Behavioral Innovativeness"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"20","author":[{"given":"Geoffrey N.","family":"Soutar","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Western Australia, Australia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Steven","family":"Ward","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Murdoch University, Australia"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"2432","container-title":["Journal of Organizational and End User Computing"],"original-title":[],"language":"ng","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/www.igi-global.com\/viewtitle.aspx?TitleId=3846","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2022,6,1]],"date-time":"2022-06-01T12:46:00Z","timestamp":1654087560000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/services.igi-global.com\/resolvedoi\/resolve.aspx?doi=10.4018\/joeuc.2008100101"}},"subtitle":["A Rasch Analysis"],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2008,10,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"4","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2008,10]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.4018\/joeuc.2008100101","relation":{},"ISSN":["1546-2234","1546-5012"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1546-2234","type":"print"},{"value":"1546-5012","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2008,10,1]]}}}
