Meanwhile, the 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) organization proposes a standard architecture for MTC in LTE-A networks. However, when a large number of MTC devices handover authentication at the same time, the use of 3GPP handover mechanisms takes up more signaling resources, which will cause signaling congestion and vulnerable attacks. To solve this problem, the researchers propose an aggregated handover authentication protocol for MTC in LTE-A networks. Compared with the current 3GPP standards, the scheme can not only avoid signaling congestion, but also support more security. Finally, the researchers use colored petri nets (CPN) to model and analyze the proposed protocol. Simulation results show that the protocol is secure and achievable.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.4018\/joeuc.2019070105","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,4,15]],"date-time":"2019-04-15T14:42:22Z","timestamp":1555339342000},"page":"83-96","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["Aggregated Handover Authentication for Machine Type Communication"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"31","author":[{"given":"Xin","family":"Chen","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"BISTU, Beijing, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"ZhiQiang","family":"Liu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"BISTU, Beijing, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Jianxiong","family":"Wan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Ikoma, Japan"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Zhuo","family":"Li","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"BISTU, Beijing, China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"2432","reference":[{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-0","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/ICC.2015.7248787"},{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/ICC.2015.7249483"},{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.comnet.2012.02.012"},{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-3","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/glocom.2012.6503246"},{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-4","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.jnca.2017.11.009"},{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-5","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/SURV.2013.041513.00174"},{"key":"JOEUC.2019070105-6","unstructured":"Dahlman, E., Mildh, G., Parkvall, S., Peisa, J., Sachs, J., & Sel\u00e9n, Y.
