A review of the literature shows that experimental work can be improved and enhanced by taking into account issues that characterise human-human communications. Results from three experiments are reported that exhibit the previously observed inconsistencies but this is arguably a function of task context. An alternative explanation is that the results are a reflection of the cognitive nature of tasks. Overall, the results point the way to further and future results in terms of refining procedures but also in terms of theoretical focus.<\/p>","DOI":"10.4018\/jthi.2007100104","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,2,15]],"date-time":"2011-02-15T14:04:02Z","timestamp":1297778642000},"page":"52-63","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Anthropomorphic Feedback in User Interfaces"],"prefix":"10.4018","volume":"3","author":[{"given":"Pietro","family":"Murano","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Salford, UK"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Patrik","family":"O\u2019Brian Holt","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The Robert Gordon University, Scotland"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"2432","container-title":["International Journal of Technology and Human Interaction"],"original-title":[],"language":"ng","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/www.igi-global.com\/viewtitle.aspx?TitleId=2912","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2022,6,1]],"date-time":"2022-06-01T17:30:21Z","timestamp":1654104621000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/services.igi-global.com\/resolvedoi\/resolve.aspx?doi=10.4018\/jthi.2007100104"}},"subtitle":["The Effect of Personality Traits, Context and Grice's Maxims on Effectiveness and Preferences"],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2007,10,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"4","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2007,10]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.4018\/jthi.2007100104","relation":{},"ISSN":["1548-3908","1548-3916"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1548-3908","type":"print"},{"value":"1548-3916","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2007,10,1]]}}}
