Treatment of nude spleen cells, or spleen cells from mice in which natural reactivity was boosted, with anti-Thy 1.2 plus complement resulted in a substantial decrease in cytotoxicity. The spontaneous cytotoxic reactivity of young, thymus-bearing mice was resistant to such treatment, but repeated exposure to anti-Thy 1.2 plus complement did cause a decrease in lytic activity.
