The event gathered about 250 participants, including breast cancer experts and advocates from 14 countries. It featured contributions from 25 specialists, interactive forums, and keynote addresses by Nobel Laureate Dr. Aaron Ciechanover and Astronaut Dr. Larry DeLucas. The meeting focused on advancements in breast cancer science and medicine, aiming to deepen the understanding of BCYW and facilitate knowledge exchange on emerging research. Discussions emphasized personalized care, prioritizing long-term survivor well-being over age-based treatment, especially regarding fertility preservation and the aggressive nature of tumors in young patients. Speakers highlighted prevention, early diagnosis, and emotional health challenges, advocating for increased awareness, genetic literacy, and better access to screening technologies. As diagnoses among young women rise, the demand for advanced research and treatment is critical. The BCYW Foundation commits to four priorities: (i) Empowering young adults through education; (ii) Supporting informed decision-making on genetic risks; (iii) Promoting tumor biology-based treatment strategies; and (iv) Strengthening advocacy for policy change and innovative care.
