This short paper reflects on the history of Information Research from the perspective of the Swedish School of Library and Information Science at the University of Bor\u00e5s (Sweden), which was entrusted with the journal\u2019s sustainable continuation by its founder Tom Wilson in 2016.\nMethod. A short, informal survey among the authors was used to gather valuable insights from current and former colleagues at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science who all contributed to the journal in some form or other, and to compile a chronology of significant events for the journal and its current home base.\nConclusion. After thirty years, Information Research remains a key publication venue in the field \u2013 not least because of its founder\u2019s trailblazing dedication to Open Access publishing avant la lettre.
