O mote da reflex\u00e3o s\u00e3o as barreiras culturais e religiosas, as disparidades hist\u00f3ricas e o impacto dos megaeventos desportivos, como os Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos, na promo\u00e7\u00e3o da participa\u00e7\u00e3o e visibilidade destas atletas. Analisa os fatores que influenciam a sua participa\u00e7\u00e3o no desporto competitivo, com \u00eanfase nos Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos, e discute os esfor\u00e7os de organiza\u00e7\u00f5es como o Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional na promo\u00e7\u00e3o da igualdade de g\u00e9nero. Al\u00e9m disso, destaca o impacto do sucesso de atletas mu\u00e7ulmanas de alto rendimento como agentes de mudan\u00e7a social, promovendo a inclus\u00e3o e o empoderamento de mulheres, tanto no desporto como na sociedade em geral. Ao analisar as mudan\u00e7as culturais, os movimentos sociais e as iniciativas governamentais, este estudo procura contribuir para o discurso sobre o desporto, a igualdade de g\u00e9nero e o potencial transformador das mulheres mu\u00e7ulmanas na arena competitiva.
