Only 37% of enrolled quota students received any retention action in 2013, 34% in 2016 and 39% in 2019. It is concluded, therefore, that affirmative and permanence actions are not being treated in an integrated manner. The results also indicate that the permanence actions do not meet all demand and require review, given that many scholarships have insufficient values and leave aside academic, symbolic and belonging needs.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.54929\/monograph-06-2024-08-05","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,7,21]],"date-time":"2024-07-21T15:23:35Z","timestamp":1721575415000},"page":"324-355","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["The Evolution and Interconnection of Affirmative and Permanence Actions in Brazilian Higher Education"],"prefix":"10.54929","author":[{"name":"PhD in Regional Development and Agribusiness PGDRA, Unioeste, Toledo-PR, Brazil Professor at the School of Management and Business Community University of the Chapec\u00f3-SC Region, Brazil","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-1652-0695","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Tatiane Salete","family":"Mattei","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1257-412X","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"M.
