Geographical location, natural and anthropogenic sites, as well as existing accommodation structures provide this area a high tourist potential. Natural landscapes, recreational areas, hunting, fishing, historical monuments, wooden churches, and natural resources are the most important attractions of the Faget area that can be valorised. The authors try to highlight in this paper the evolution of the tourist reception units in the analyzed area. We try to highlight other very important aspects of the analyzed area such as the total capacity of tourist accommodation in operation, the arrivals of tourists in the structures of tourist reception, but also the situation of overnight stays in these structures. Through this paper we want to point out how much the pandemic has influenced the tourism activity in the Faget area, but also its influence on accommodation structures. For this study we had to visit the analyzed area to see the real situation. We talked to the residents and the owners of accommodation units who presented us the real situation. Due to the information and data received from them, we were able to present the situation in the area, both before the pandemic and during the pandemic years.
