The Green Deal for Europe sets a potential goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. This agreement aims to promote a green economy, create sustainable industry and transport, and reduce pollution. The main intention is to turn climate and environmental challenges into opportunities and ensure that the transition is fair and inclusive. The European Commission supports EU Member States in designing and implementing reforms that support the ecological transformation and contribute to achieving the objectives of the Green Deal for Europe. The Commission also assists in designing the necessary procedures in central and local administrations and creates the coordination structures necessary for the implementation of environmental policies. The aim of this article was to propose possible strategies to use and support the competitiveness of companies in the Czech Republic in meeting the goals of the European Union. In order to increase competitiveness, it focuses on strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, reducing sector market barriers, facilitating foreign investment and trade, supporting research and innovation, better managing public-private partnerships and optimizing state-owned enterprises. With this contribution, the authors are trying to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the European Union and at the same time support the competitiveness of companies in the Czech Republic.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.5593\/sgem2023\/5.1\/s20.17","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,10,12]],"date-time":"2023-10-12T06:09:00Z","timestamp":1697090940000},"page":"139-144","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":5,"title":["GREEN COMPETITIVENESS AS A BUSINESS STRATEGY"],"prefix":"10.5593","volume":"23","author":[{"given":"Jakub","family":"Chlopecky","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Economics, Department of Systems Engineering","place":["Czech Republic"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Ondrej","family":"Grycz","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, FMT (Faculty of Materials Science and Technology), Department of Industrial Systems Management","place":["Czech Republic"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Marian","family":"Piecha","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, FMT (Faculty of Materials Science and Technology), Department of Industrial Systems Management","place":["Czech Republic"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Jan","family":"Pszczolka","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, FMT (Faculty of Materials Science and Technology), Department of Industrial Systems Management","place":["Czech Republic"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Vaclav","family":"Zyder","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, FMT (Faculty of Materials Science and Technology), Department of Industrial Systems Management","place":["Czech Republic"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"3602","reference":[{"key":"ref=1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"[1] Antweiler, W., B.
