Transport on the Danube has many economic and environmental advantages. By using the river as a transport route, logistics costs can be reduced, and delivery times optimized. Another feature of the Danube is its connection to the North Sea and maritime transport via the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. In addition, waterborne transport produces less carbon dioxide than road or rail transport, helping to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable development. The study of the wind climate of the Danube is particularly important for transport and navigation on this waterway, allowing ship operators to use this information to optimize their routes and plan their voyages with maximum efficiency and safety for both cargo and crew. A statistical analysis of vessel traffic for the period 1990 - 2020 was carried out and cargo types and vessel types were characterized. Also, cargo quantities and vessel capacity were analyzed in terms of both imports and exports. Thus, this paper presents a study of the river from an economic, statistical, and climatic point of view.
[[2024,12,4
["CLIMATE ANALYSIS ALONG THE NAVIGATION ROUTES ON THE DANUBE
Dunarea de Jos University of Galati, Faculty of Engineering, Department Mechanical Engineering, Galati
Romania
Dunarea de Jos University of Galati, Faculty of Engineering, Department Mechanical Engineering, Galati
Romania
Dunarea de Jos University of Galati, Faculty of Engineering, Department Mechanical Engineering, Galati
Romania
Dunarea de Jos University of Galati, Faculty of Engineering, Department Mechanical Engineering, Galati
Romania
[1] Z.
