In conditions of turbulence and ongoing challenges for the society, increasing attention is being paid to ensuring technological sovereignty of regions and countries. Countries with advanced technologies have advantages, among which energy supply technologies occupy a special place. The type and quality of energy sources is of particular importance. The energy complex and its resource supply, as well as everything related to the production and consumption of electricity, play a major role in this regard. The transportation is of great importance as well.\nThe purpose of the paper is to consider some promising areas that contribute to the energy transition and to evaluate their benefits. In particular, attention is being paid to energy storage devices, which can solve problems hampering the development of RES and use of electric cars.
