The protection and effective management of these resources must be top priorities for everyone involved in environmental planning and management. The purpose of this work is to monitor the quality of groundwater from two water drillings located in the south of Timisoara and four water drillings in the west of the locality. The samples were taken in the year 2023 and were subjected to several analyzes (pH, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, chlorides, sulfates, bicarbonates, calcium, magnesium, total hardness, sodium, potassium, dissolved iron and dissolved manganese, temperature) in order to obtain a detailed assessment of the water quality. The influence of agricultural activities was noted by a higher concentration of nitrates in the south of Timisoara, and in the western area the concentrations of nitrites are higher, which may indicate a more pronounced biological or industrial pollution. The proposed solutions focus on an integrated and sustainable approach to agriculture and the economy in general, to ensure that these water resources will remain available and clean for future generations.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.5593\/sgem2024v\/3.2\/s11.16","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,3,24]],"date-time":"2025-03-24T15:49:58Z","timestamp":1742831398000},"page":"115-122","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["THE INFLUENCE OF AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES ON THE QUALITY OF UNDERGROUND WATER IN THE CENTRAL AREA OF THE BANAT PLAIN UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF ADAPTATION TO CLIMATE CHANGE"],"prefix":"10.5593","volume":"24","author":[{"given":"Laura","family":"Smuleac","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Life Sciences \"King Mihai I\" from Timi?oara","place":["Romania"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Florin","family":"Imbrea","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Life Sciences \"King Mihai I\" from Timi?oara","place":["Romania"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Adrian","family":"Smuleac","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Life Sciences \"King Mihai I\" from Timi?oara","place":["Romania"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Raul","family":"Pascalau","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Life Sciences \"King Mihai I\" from Timi?oara","place":["Romania"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Radu","family":"Bertici","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Life Sciences \"King Mihai I\" from Timi?oara","place":["Romania"]}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"3602","reference":[{"key":"ref=1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"[1] Cherchi, C., Badruzzaman, M., Oppenheimer, J., Bros, C.
