Environmental education not only provides knowledge about the environment but also empowers students to be active participants in solving environmental problems. In this article, we examine the importance of environmental education in modern curricula and the ways in which it contributes to the development of responsible and active citizens. Environmental education is more than just the transmission of information about natural sciences; it is an integrated approach that includes an understanding of the interactions between people and the environment. By studying topics such as climate change, biodiversity loss and sustainable practices, students develop critical thinking and the ability to analyze complex environmental problems. Such education helps create an aware society that values the protection of nature and is ready to take action for change. Environmental education encourages students to ask questions, explore and seek solutions to problems. These critical thinking skills are essential for identifying real challenges in the environment and formulating appropriate actions.
[[2025,11,22
["EMPOWERING STUDENTS: THE ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN MODERN CURRICULA
["Bulgaria
["Bulgaria
["Bulgaria
[2] Ellyatt, W.
