This study aims to undertake a scoping review of the literature to identify the underlying midwifery theories, and, therefore, contribute to the identification of a potential different model of care for women with low-risk pregnancies. The JBI methodology for scoping reviews will be used to conduct this review, with a three-step search strategy.
