{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T22:10:57Z","timestamp":1740175857254,"version":"3.37.3"},"reference-count":11,"publisher":"Masaryk University Press","issue":"1","content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["MUJLT"],"abstract":"<jats:p>Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593\/2008 of the European Parliament and of the\u00a0Council of 17 June 2008 on the law applicable to contractual obligations (Rome I)\u00a0adapts the rule laid down in the Rome Convention regarding international\u00a0consumer contracts, to take into account the requirements of the consumer\u00a0protection in an international contract, as the weaker party, and the demands of\u00a0electronic commerce. Article 6 determines the types of international contract\u00a0protected and establishes the mechanisms to protect the consumer. However, the\u00a0legal provision in question is not free from complications and requires an effort of\u00a0interpretation to adjust the rule to the diffuse nature of the internet and to the\u00a0characteristics of electronic commerce.
