Peripherals are located in the border zones of the building to the external environment, the encroaching represent external spaces cutting through its volume, the penetrating enter and exit through the building, taking away part of it, and the mixed are a combination of different types of in-between spaces. Peripheral, encroaching and penetrating have three subtypes each.
